Ninja Academy

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

This video was filmed at 924 Gilman on January 21, 2010. Ninja Academy are from Los Angeles, but they have a loyal following of fans here in the San Francisco Bay Area, and they have played regularly at 924 Gilman over the last three or four years. This show was a bit more on the artsy side, featuring a film with musical accompaniment as an opener, along with their local tour support We Be The Echo. Ninja Academy has played huge shows over the years at Gilman, as well as smaller more experimental bills, but they never disappoint.

CORRUPTED live at Gilman 2008

Monday, November 17th, 2008

CORRUPTED
@ 924 Gilman St
Berkeley, CA
11/08/2008

This video was shot by Dan Hashthrash,
who runs the killthatcat.com website.

The show itself was booked and promoted by UGZ Presents, for Gilman. The amount of time and energy we put into this show, from flyering East Bay telephone poles to dropping handbills and posters off in San Jose, Campbell, Mountain View, Concord, Berkeley, Oakland, El Cerrito, and so on, to painting the club, changing the light gels, planning the food for the bands, and working the door for the second half of the show. For one of the few times this year, it all seemed to be worth it in the end. The show was great musically, the draw was huge, and the bands seemed to enjoy themselves as much or more than the crowd, which is not something we see on a regular basis. The other bands that appeared on this bill were ASUNDER, AMBER ASYLUM, and STORMCROW.
